R.I.S.E. Again: Reintegrating, Inspiring, Supporting, and Empowering Young Mothers through Education Policy Advocacy & Leadership

Unlocking potentials

Project Summary

R.I.S.E. Again is an advocacy and empowerment initiative focused on advocacy for the rights of adolescent and young mothers in Nairobi to return to school and rebuild their futures through education and leadership development. The project seeks to dismantle stigma, challenge systemic barriers, and promote inclusive policies and support systems that enable young mothers to thrive academically and personally. Despite Kenya’s progressive policy frameworks, many teen mothers face exclusion from formal education due to stigma, lack of support, poverty, and childcare responsibilities. R.I.S.E. Again advocates for education not just as a right, but as a launchpad for leadership, economic empowerment, and community transformation.

  1. Advocate for the full implementation of return-to-school policies for teen and young mothers across public and private institutions.
  2. Raise community awareness to combat stigma and discrimination against young mothers in school settings.
  3. Provide leadership and life skills training for girls to build confidence, advocacy capacity, and resilience.
  4. Support reintegration pathways through mentorship, psychosocial support, and access to essential services.
